You walked into my life Then back out I would have made you my wife Had you only stayed I wasn't enough to hold you You didn't have time for me Threw me away like an old shoe My way of life stood in the way As hard as I tried When I tried to reach you To myself I lied I thought I was good enough To hold on to you All I ever wanted Was just a little time from you But all you cared about was what you wanted Just write me I asked You said I’m too busy Is it such a hard task Just to drop me a line Now I see just what I was to you Just a fool on a string Now I walk away Forever to stay I want no more to do with you You can find yourself a new plaything I have decided to play the game I learned from you Now I’m going me a heart to put on a string So girls hide your hearts For Icy’s on the prowl He’s going to play a game Then let out a howl And be gone alan 09/07/01 |

For some reason this poem reminded me of an old Elvis song called "Wooden Heart". "There's no strings attached to this heart of mine. It was always you from the start. Treat me nice...treat me good... for I'm not made of wood.... and I don't have a wooden heart." Or something like that. James |

Howl 'till the cows come home.. or at least until your heart is back where it belongs, and not dangling. A funny poem somehow, even in its sadness. C'est la vie. |

Great poem. Thanks for the warning. I've put my heart under lock and key now!!! Let me know when it's safe out there again If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |
