Numb

No moth to butterfly, nulled of liberty
I know not the touch of God's hand,
no mercy from His paintbrush of beauty
wounded, I weep across love's land;
dissapointment, heart of regret, lowly
is all my soul shall ever know
'tis the plain of destiny, unholy
these seeds of woe I sow,
I no longer have use for emotion -
this poison breath of pain
worthless souls sip of death's potion,
need be numb, no chain of strain

This poem is haunting me Melissa. I too want to be comfortably numb...rescued from memories and thoughts that sting. And the accompanying artwork is incredible...excellent companion for this piece. A standing ovation for you!
