Anchorman: There's not much news about the war in Viet Nam..... On the delta: We first saw them as we made a turn in the river.... Anchorman: Our forces continue to patrol and find little resistance.... On the delta: They were tied spread eagle to the trees on the bank.... Anchorman: Casualties were at a all time low.... On the delta:They had been cut open from their chins to their groin.... Anchorman: More news after this commercial..... On the delta:Clouds of flies swarmed in the cavitys of their bodies.... Anchorman: Peace talks continue to be stalled in Paris..... On the delta: The genitals had been crudely hacked away..... Anchorman: Let's go to the weather forecast.... On the delta: We cut them down, bagged them and stacked them on the deck.... Anchorman:That concludes this evenings news.... On the delta:There it is..... paladin [This message has been edited by paladin (edited 08-12-2001).] |

Robert, one small thing "bodys" should be "bodies" that is it. That is my only problem with the poem, other than that I really like the constrast between media and reality. well put, the last is quite powerful "there is it". enjoyed the read. shadows flicker sweet end tame |

Split-screen news. If only once we would really see it this way on TV, perhaps the true face of war would be revealed, and not the whitewashed version we usually get. I still remember the photo of the young person running, burnt (from napalm?)...it's an image of the real face of war. Thanks for revealing the truth, in contrast to Hollywood-Government pseudo-news. |
