I dont know what a tanka is but I like this anyway...would you explain it to me? LOL not the poem(tanka) but whats a tanka? I love the sound of the word... |

Mr. Magoo-- Thank you. They just take some practice and then they're a pleasure to write. Glad you enjoyed. SEA-- Thank you. Paula-- Thanks, glad you liked this one. Tanka is just a 5 line poem that most commonly has 5-7-5-7-7 syllable count. Though that may vary--i've seen 4-6-4-6-6 and ones with still less, but you can't have more than 31 syllables. They're basically just like an extended Haiku, but they can be about anything. take care, Poeminister |
