It is a trodden path I wander.
Passing lost souls.
Sometimes losing my own,
Sometimes finding it along the way.
Twisted, narrow,
It bends from view.
Leaving me blind,
To what awaits ahead.
Where it leads,
I know not.
Nor do I care.
My fate, my destiny,
Lies upon its path,
Each step drawing me closer,
To an unseen destination.
Someday I shall rest.
Step off this path,
Rest my thoughts,
Close my eyes,
Dream.
But for know I wander.
There is no cause to hurry.
As each step I take to beat time,
Leaves me a step behind,
On this trodden path I wander.

In a way, I was thinking about this very thing today.

I was pondering the phrase, "One day at a time." I often say this phrase as how I face life's challenges and recommend the same to others.

But today I was wondering if then that is just reacting to life. What about planning for the future, setting goals. They seem to be in conflict with each other. I may make this the next subject of my newspaper column.

Life holds many surprises though we try to carry a certain path we do not know all the turns. Very good poem
