You ain't my daddy,
my daddy done died.
He jumped off the roof
of the Bisonte Hotel,
right across the street
from MackDonalds.
'Ceptin MackDonalds wasn't
there then.
No golden arches.
No daddy.
He died
and
I done cried.
Why you be sayin'
you're my Daddy?
Just 'cause you be
sleepin' with my Momma?
Takin' me to MackDonalds,
Sittin' in the booth,
eatin' my fries.
Lookin' 'cross the street
at the
Bisonte Hotel.
My Momma,
she don't cry no more,
I do.
Lots of folks was happy
when they built MackDonalds
'cross the street from the
Bisonte Hotel.
Why you be takin' me to
MackDonalds?
Why did my Daddy die?

Wow,
Ya know to be honest with you Im not sure how I would handle a question like that.
I know the mind of a child is so simple and pure,yet for an adult to try and answer a question like that can be the hardest thing a man will ever have to do.

Mike--I know that sometimes such raw parts of life touch you and you see this kind of sadness...to express it with your poets heart makes me see the tenderness of the poet.
