Sycamores pose beneath a blanket of snow < !signature-->A crystal blanket adorns naked limbs' aglow Brazing in the sunlight, shivering in the wind Enticing moonlight, in shadows, naked skin Whispers of the night, wooing naked trees Phantom fingers touches softly the breeze Silky lips of the moon, kisses tenderly, night shadows sleep upon moon pillows, white A bedroom of velvet, canopies of stars Lullabies whisper, beyond spheres afar Ebony satin gown drapes branches' nice Seducing darkness on bed of aqua ice Icicles bleed music like an acoustic guitar Serenading in the night's crystal boudoir A poem is never finished, only abandoned. - Paul Valery (1871-1945) [This message has been edited by Victoria (edited 01-18-2001).] |

Wow! The imagery, the theme and thoughts in this are fantastic! This is such a melancholy piece, yet so beautiful to read, the words flow off the tongue so smoothly. Take care, Melissa< !signature--> The beauty of poetry gives my soul wings to fly free within dreams [This message has been edited by Melissa Honeybee (edited 01-18-2001).] |

Vic, I was not planning to read tonight, but this title captivated me. Your imagery is so beautiful and your colors, always make the world seem brighter. Lovely poem. S |

Ebony satin gown drapes branches' nice Seducing darkness on bed of aqua ice Icicles bleed music like an acoustic guitar Serenading in the night's crystal boudoir ==================== Victoria this is so lovely.. your gift of imagery is showcased here ... wonderful use of metaphor and elements of nature to express the emotions. very cool poem...and title well done When to the sessions of sweet silent thought, I summon up remembrance of things past ... I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought. ~Shakespeare~ |
