on a shoestring dream
     i ride the skies
holding on with just my heart

through the mist
     i pierce the moon
erupting starburst sparks
          into your hand

hold on to these,
     my precious embers
          rubies from my soul

place them in the heart of you
     where they can burn in brilliance

and lure me back
     from shoestring dreams
          to reclaim the fire
               now burning in you...
