I don't know where my master went. I can't pick up the slightest scent of his old boots and so I fear, that somehow I've been left out here. The woods are thick. It seemed like fun to dash ahead and have a run, but when I finally turned around and put my nose down to the ground, there were such tantalizing smells and not a one of them that tells which way he went. I know that he must be so worried about me! I've barked and listened, but I found the usual forest noise around. No distant shout or honking horn. I've been with him since I was born. What will he do and what will I? If I were human, I would cry. I think I've found the place where he Pulled off the road and set me free. Perhaps I'll just lie down and wait. I hope I don't become bear bait! If only I knew what to do and if dogs go to Heaven too. An engine noise comes to my ear and then I see his car appear. I'm filled with joy I can't express but he will understand, I guess. My wagging tail, my yips and cries are sounds that he will recognize. So homeward bound we soon will be. A place that means the world to me! Betty Lou Hebert |

Trillium, No less a distinguished writer of things spiritual than C.S. Lewis suggests that animals may very well find a place in heaven. We can learn much from them...and from him. Thanks for the reminder. Bob |

This is so adorable. We lost a darling little dog in the city once and when we found him we all wagged ouir tails. Joyce |

Hi Bob: Thanks for your remarks. I wonder if you are familiar with Ecclesiastes Chapter 3, verses 18 through 20? To me that has always meant that animals go to the same place we do after death. What do you think? Betty Lou Hebert |

Dear Joyce: Thanks. It's so painful to lose a pet. I'm glad you found your little dog. Betty Lou Hebert |
