My Black, Broken Heart ~*By Melissa Honeybee*~ I knew right from the beginning you had a wandering eye and yet, I fell in love with you, it goes to show that love is blind ~*~ I tried to chain you with my devotion so that you would never be untrue foolish...I thought I would succeed at the task no other woman could do ~*~ I refused to be just another flame, burnt out so, I gave my all to tie you down reality can be so callous, still, you trick or treat all over town ~*~ I thought that I could erase a leopard's spots, and forgave your past to taste reverie, I was taught that love had to hurt to last but, it shouldn't be hard work, true love should come naturally ~*~ I realize now that I cannot mold a man into what he could never be I've learned this lesson the hard way, hearts cannot change destiny ~*~ Fate has it's own agenda that only time can reveal though life goes on and tears shall dry, I send my deepest sympathies to the next victim when she is shattered with your goodbye ~*~ So, I'll conceal my black, broken heart 'neath a smiling face, perhaps I'll find my soulmate another paradise, another place |

...a sad, sad tale indeed. I found amazing that despite the hurt you describe, there is not an ounce of bitterness, meaness or hatefulness in your words...I think that's great and reinforces the idea of hope at the end. Thanks for sharing! Jellybean King |

Oh Melissa, this is so pain filled. I understand this feeling all too well. But your heart is not black, just bruised. Take care. Sandra |

My heart hurts for you. I know this pain, Melissa. You've written the emotion well. "When people show you who they are, believe them" |

How bittersweet, as you will grow from this experience, knowing you can never change anyone, nor they you. I hope your black heart is soon whole. Mr. Right is out there, and when it is good you don't have to do a thing except work at loving them every day! Happy Hunting to you. This was a wonderful poem I am sure may can relate to. |
