Fairytale

It is a fairytale I live,
In the darkness of my room;
Shadows, a blue castle give,
My princess I’ll meet soon.

Surrounded by a deadly moat,
My mind, it makes a way;
I stroll across and then take note,
I have ‘til the sunlit day.

We sit and talk and spend our time,
In front of a tangerine fire;
We eat our fruit and sip our wine,
Of this we will never tire.

Then through the castle window,
From hell it must have come;
A sign that I must now go,
The early morning sun.

I kissed her lips so sweetly,
Her hand I held in mine,
It trembled oh so weakly
Alas, the sun called time.

I rub the sleep from my eyes,
And curse my situation;
When will she come with sunlit skies,
And not my imagination?

...a bittersweet love story...oh how I too wish that my dreams can also follow me into the warm glow of the day (only the nice ones). I especially loved "...tangerine fire"...vivid and original.

Smiling........I've been thinking about fairy tales too.

I couldn't be Snow White
with my singing so off key
And even Cinderella
my fear of mice, nope, not me!

Goldie Locks was hopeful
with my blond stands also fair
But with my love of hunting
I'd have shot poor Papa Bear!

And so when searching fairy tales
I finally must confess
I've yet to find a damsel
with a temper or pms.

JB King....thank you. This was a fun to write fantasy. Just a little story drawn from old feelings.

Just a Woman...I'm laffing my rear-end off! I think that little ditty is worthy of a thread for itself! Thank you.
