I open my eyes and see the space
Empty in my world
My arms are weak
And my tears burn as they fall down my cheeks
As far as I can look into myself
I can see darkness
I can feel my fears
I look into the mirror of my soul
And see my distortion
My twisted body
My ugly reality
Banging my head to stop the pain
Holding my heart in my cold hands again
Dropping it over the edge of this earth
I realize that it is gone
The spot where it was will never be happy again
Quickly I close my eyes
Its scary when they see
Quiet in my dark state
I can see the truth
Over the edge I see you climb
Holding my heart in your warm, strong hands
You come to me and kiss the tears that burn
You hold me so tight
If the fears were there they rushed away
And your sweet words and love
Put my heart back in place
And me
Warm again in my space

A happy ending to this poem

I enjoyed reading.

Maree

I may know the word but not say it
I may know the truth but not face it
I may hear a sound a whisper sacred and profound
but turn my head indifferent.
