Now, this was written last year, before I knew there was a Sunshine poet. It was written to an hypothetical friend, dubbing her "Sunshine." Interesting even more to me having found Sunshine here at PIP, don't you think?! Virginia Salter good morning sunshine why don’t you smile at me the day is beginning sit down and have some tea we’ll chat about old times we’ll listen to our hearts we’ll sip of lemon sweetness and nibble on some tarts the world out there will go on by a doing what it pleases while we sit with feet up eating bread and cheeses good morning, Sunshine, give me a smile good morning, Sunshine, come sit awhile recall I love you, you love me, too we’ll bless the hours, just me and you © July 20, 2000 |
