He stumbled and the winds picked up Gold foliage ‘round him sweeping, Under their force, he simply dropped And maidens began weeping. And yet, he rose, and walked some more, His destiny compelled him... Took three more steps and as before, He fell and no one helped him. A lonesome hound, by the fence, Continued barking out of boredom, And street-lamps bowed their metal heads To praise the passing Autumn.
