I think I may finally have this anapestic metre licked, just in time for St Pat's day for you. I tried to change it at the workshop but it's been too long since the original, so you lucky people will be inflicted.March seventeen soon comes our way to celebrate our St Patrick's Day in hotels and pubs and rubbitty dubs the bold Irish have something to say In Ireland religion is strongest Who can say who is right, who is wrongest in orange or green they vie to be seen but wind up by sparring through songfest Green Erin's Isle a place of full mist a bright land where the Blarney is kissed and all men have seen the Leprecauns' dream yet decisions are made by the fist Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. This is wonderful Kethry...great job dear picnic pal!! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |
