He woke me up early
for a walk above the lake
fish there he promised
too easy to take

I thought the hike would kill me
straight up a winding hill
but the view once up there
gave me such a thrill

We had been walking
next to a waterfall
and at the top there was a rock
that looked like a perfect scooped out ball

Just past that now
the earth leveled out flat
I needed to catch my breath
so right there I sat

I felt the breeze blowing
so soft across my face
I knew that only heaven
could've created this magical place

Walking now through grass knee high
a whisper is all we dared
loving every minute
of this precious time shared

the fish can see you coming
he says………… crouch down low
I thought he was joking
how was I to know?

Fish scattered
I scared them all away
but this was only part
of our amazing day

After laughing about the fish
and giving apologetic hugs
to my surprise and wonderment
all around us were a million lady bugs

They floated like fairies
I couldn't believe my eyes
then I saw the look of love
he couldn't begin to disguise

The world was lost to us
it was only him and me
swept up in the magic
of Nature's Majesty

Thanks for sharing the view. I thought that thing about scaring the fish was silly, too...till I did it. Love the ladybugs!

Nice picture from beginning to end...well written .......those fish will always come back to their fav spot. The feeding is usually good there. I love the freshness of this poem and ya did get a little lovey dovey too didn't ya.....challenge well met!

I love how you ended this!

The world was lost to us
it was only him and me
swept up in the magic
of Nature's Majesty

Reminds me of Alaska. Someplace I would truly love to go before I die.
