The bottem of the ocean, is littered with the dead. Their lives have been forfeit, a stray bullet in the head. Most men did not make the shore, cut down within the boat. Their bodies sank beneath the waves, too heavy with their gear to float. The tide watters are stained red, tainted by the blood. The water covers everything, the boats , the men , the mud. Those men whom made the beach, were cut down before too long. The guns of war sounding in their ears, singing their deadly song. Eventually those guns were stopped, althought we paid the price. The men required to take that beach, was a gruesome sacrafice. Many brave men died that day, to stop the guns of war. Many sacraficed their lives, to save so many more. The dead will be forever damned, for the killing they had done. But gladly they did the job, to give peace a chance to come. This poem was inspired by my study of Pearl Harbour . And dedicated to all whom died to give us freedom . |

This is a sad, sad, poem about a sad, sad, time. We should all remember their sacrifices. My brother came home from it, but the war still killed him. Joyce |

Blackdrake, Sad and powerful words. They should all be honored and remembered for giving their lives for our freedom. May they never be forgotten. Very well done. Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
