If I Were a Poet Would you think me romantic, if I were to write Sonnets that whisper to you through the night Words of enchantment, music of love That float on the soft pillow wings of a dove Would you find me endearing if I could impart The pleasures of you with a verse from the heart If I could write lyrics so pleasant to hear And make God’s sweet sounds come alive in your ear Would you find me enchanting if I were to sketch Colorful visions that memories will etch Songs you’ll remember of soft rhythmic rhyme Never forgotten through ages of time If I were a poet, would you love me more Would the poetry capture your heart evermore Would my garden of words bring delight to your eyes Would my sonnet of love glow from bright starry skies Elizabeth Santos |

You ARE a poet and this was fabulous verse!! LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

You're already a fabulous poet...because of the heart and soul that you portray through your wondrous words of love.....Your poetry is an extension of you and that's what endears me to your work because the person that is really you shows through your poetry but it also tells me that I would think the same of you even if you were'nt a poet....just because you're you! thanks again for sharing this Elizabeth.....take care ethome The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

If you're not a poet, there are none. I could read your posts from sun to sun. They flow like a pleasant rippling stream Taking me places I'd never dreamed. Rae |

Reading your poetry is like reading your heart, I'm sure. Pure beauty.. Kate Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood. T S Eliot |
