I watch the rain splashing against the patio pooling up upon the concrete and myself sitting upon the step How it runs down my legs in droplets as if in search before finally reaching the soil where it soaks in to nourish And how it seems to recognize that neither I or the concrete are open to it's gift Only the soil, the ground, that soaks it up in thanks and produces life in return |
