On the lush shores of the Emerald Isle
I had only stopped to rest a while
But very soon, sleep came to my eyes
And when I awoke, I heard the cries

Heard the cries of someone dressed in green
I rubbed my eyes, not knowing what I'd seen
"Well help me out lad, don't just stand there!"
But all I could do was stop and stare

in a little suit of green
sat a man in silken sheen
with a cap upon his head
and a feather of gold and red

And on the feather of gold and red
there sat a fairy with the name of Fred

And Fred said to Sven
This is MY luck...you ken?
Dont listen to his leprechaun guile
This little green dude will make you smile
Then he'll fool you into letting him free
And there will be no gold for you...or me

PONG!!!!

The leprechaun smiled
he knew he had won
now that the fighting
'tween fae and man had begun.

Leprechaun Fred looked me in the eyes,
“Ask me no questions, I’ll tell you no lies”.
There’s no time for talk, I said firm and bold,
I’ll let you go, when I’ve got your pot of gold.

Ah Sven ... I've missed this, great idea!

This little man of gold and green,
Stood restlessly, just three feet three,
He reared his head, looked in my eyes,
And raised his hand toward the skies.

"You see," he said, "Way over there?"
"Beyond the glen … just squint and stare."
"'Tis where I hid me treasure, true,"
"And here is what you need to do."

PING ...

yes behind that rainbow is the pot of gold
but you'll have to travel many lands first
some very hot
others extremely cold

it's a long journey i can promise you
many before you have tried to get there
then it was as though the little man was gone
He dissapeared into thin air...

I stood around for a while not sure what to do
Then looked at that rainbow again so far away
Started out on my journey smiling
It was still early in the day....

But then he returned the small green suited lad
because the directions he'd given were knowingly bad.
Ya know Sven ya seem like steady a good lad
I'll not want ya to go home thinkin ya been had.

So he sat on a stone close to the big poet's foot
and out of him poured the sweet magical truth.
Sven it's been said there is gold near the rainbow's end
but it ain't for true heart like yours Sven.

PING!
The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

For a true poet, even one with blarney, at best
knows the rainbow's pot of gold is in jest
for in truth, shall all treasures reside
and poof the leprauchaun vanished from his side...
