Let's Use Our Noodles
aka
Spaghetti Challenge

There once were two girls who wrote doodles
While eating their meatballs and noodles
They'd best watch their plate
Lest their meatballs fall straight
In the mouths of their two little poodles.

I received this email from a visitor to my Cape Cod site today folks... Can anyone oblige?
quote:

Hello,
I'm looking for a poem about spaghetti. I'm making scrap books for my girls and have a wonderful picture of them eating spaghetti and would like a fun poem to put with it. If you have any or know of a book to find one in I would certenly appreciate it.

Thank you
Tammy

Nancy - you are tooooo much!

I was eating a long spagetti,
when I looked over, at my teddy...
He gave me a look, then a wink,
I thought maybe, he wanted a drink...

But what he wanted, was a skeddie,
not veggies, or lettuce, for teddy...
Gave him a long one, with a spoon,
and then he jumped up, started to croon...

Sang me a song, he sure did,
even said his name was Fred...
I don't have a moral, to this poem,
but feed teddy skeddie, and BC will stay home...

Hey, what's with this spaghetti?
It won't stay on my fork!
Each time I go to take a bite
I feel like such a dork.
It slides across the table
and then drops on the floor
Hey what's with this spaghetti?
HEY MA, I NEED SOME MORE!!!

Hey, what's with this spaghetti?
It's such a terrible mess!
Each time I go to take a bite
it falls right on my dress.
Is it worth the trouble?
It seems an awful chore!
Hey what's with this spaghetti?
HEY MA, I WANT SOME MORE!!!

Spaghetti or not
here it comes
a strand that tickles
as it reaches the tum.

Long and stringy
tasting delish
till all that's left
is an empty dish.

But watching you eat
are loving eyes
ready to wipe
left over surprise.

oh well took a shot at it *s

OKOKOK...I got one (thanks PRMike for the inspiration)

Hey what's with this spaghetti?
It kind of looks like worms
It's twisted and it's tangled
And even kind of squirms.
I wonder, would it wiggle
If I dropped it on the floor~
Well, I can see it doesn't.
Hey Mom! I want some more!

(SORRY!!!!)

Sarah likes her 'sketty plain,
no sauce, no butter, no cheese,
if you forget and serve it laced,
up turns her nose, pretty as you please.
Would love to see your web site, Nan!

There once was a poet named Nan
whose spaghetti limerick was grand
she'd taken the challange
and showed her great talent
but alas the can opener jammed.

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

SPAGHETTI !!

My sister and I like spaghetti the best
But one day it caused us a little unrest
We both were so startled by slow little squirms
It seems that the noodles were actually worms

“Oh, please do not eat us”, they fervently pled
All covered with sauce so delicious and red
“Just allow us to rest here on top of your plate
We are really the worst worms that you ever ate”

We told them ,”We’re famished, and besides you are doomed
To be eaten with meatballs and sausage real soon
So please all be quiet and don’t interrupt!”
We sprinkled on cheese and we ate them all up

We sucked up each long and thin noodley worm
One at a time with a fidgety squirm
But when we were finished, we started to balk
At the thought of a worm that could actually talk!

Mom said ,”You both look a little bit ill.”
We said ,”Eating slimy long worms was a thrill!”
She gasped at the thought that she couldn’t comprehend
Mothers sometimes don’t know how to pretend!

Next day Mother served us spaghetti once more
The worms were all moving much worse than before
They all started shouting and making a fuss
“You ate up our cousins, You’re not eating us!”

This time Mother witnessed the noodles’ proposal
And chucked all the worms down the garbage disposal!

Two girls all covered in red,
With noodles from tummy to head,
It isn't the waste,
They just love the taste,
Of their Mother's cooking instead.
