Free to Fly
By Richard Maxfield
2-26-2001

Under sparkling skies
In meadow green
Beside mill pond
Peaceful serine

Reflective waters
Ripple over coddle stone dam
Puffy white clouds
Like wool from a lamb

Willows weeping
To the ground
Mated birds singing
A distant sound

Blanket spread
Under shade of oak
Lovers eyes dance
No words are spoke

Fingers touch
The silk of lips
Firmness of breast
Roundness of hips

Time stands still
While hours speed by
Two bonded as one
Hearts free to fly

Well, we know what you do on picnics. Watch out for those ants.
