There are many things that make me glad
Like the hearty laughter of a little lad
The frolicking awkwardness of a puppy at play,
And the glow of sunshine at the start of a day.

To see grass and flowers covered with dew,
Mountainous white clouds in a sky of blue,
A walk on a pillow of new fallen snow,
Soft falling rain that makes flowers grow

For my children to grow strong and tall,
The good times past that I recall
Sitting quietly alone remembering past joys,
And "Hi Granddaddy" from three fine boys.

It may seem silly but I yearn for the day when I will have grandchildren to spend time with and to share memories and make new ones along with them. Wonderful write and I loved the way you compare these times with the beauty of nature. Just as it should be.

This was simple wonderful. Unlike Mark, I'm not ready to be a "Grandfather" yet,
but I have shared and cherished the memories that I created with my grandfathers who have both passed away some time ago. Anyone who reads this can't help but to reminisce of times spent with there grandfather.
EXCELLENT.

Ain't it grand to be a grandpappy, or a grand anything for that matter.

Great piece, although it seems to be your joy not your father's, but maybe you mean it's your joy in being a father. Anyway, I certainly, wholly enjoyed the read.

This is a joy to read, Toe... I thought at first that it would be about your joy in your children... but I like the stretch back across generations of love. *S* As much as I enjoy the smiles you share, I wait for gems such as this from your pen. *S* Beautiful!
