Birth of a Smile (for my 5,000th post) |

Birth of a Smile It starts as just a flickering, Like tiny sparks of angel wings, A flutter deep within my soul, That overtakes my being, whole. A tingle rises through my skin, Transforms my look from out within, I feel my eyes begin to soft, As gently eyebrows curve aloft. A supple crease forms 'round my eyes, In tandem as my cheeks arise, A tender pattern soon appears, To trace the lines of well-worn years. And then as if by willing pawn, The corners of my lips are drawn, They rise to meet the chorus laid, Of sweet emotions you have played. Together captured on my face, In unity, this portrait placed, Begun by simple artistry, For you my dear, have painted me. 'Tis through your loving brush I shine, A captive moment, held in time, You sketched this image I adorn, For through your love ... this smile was born. /Kit McCallum ***Thank you for 5,000 smiles everyone!*** Have I told you lately how wonderful you all are?  |
