If love were enough we wouldn't be standing here separated by mountains of pain and anger Too steep to climb Or we choose not to not again Even though the path is worn smooth as marble from all the trips we've made I still catch myself automatically heading for that path thinking once again I can reach the top and finally find you somewhere on the other side of all that pain But as I stare at that path I know that every time I do I leave pieces of me behind and it's only when I'm almost there I realize I'm not even me anymore Just the woman I have to be with you and I can't be her anymore "The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new. 'But as I stare at that path I know that every time I do I leave pieces of me behind and it's only when I'm almost there I realize I'm not even me anymore Just the woman I have to be with you and I can't be her anymore' Very powerful lines, dreamkeeper...can definitely relate to these! Love the write! sp everytime I close my eyes, I see your face, I taste you on my lips... every night I fantasize that I can feel you on my fingertips... |

dreamkeeper - there are many true words and feelings here that you have written. I read your poem and am at a loss for words, as it did touch me. BC |

Well written And so very profound, in its understanding. We know what we have seen and felt. Nothing More. |

James Michael - If only the person it was written for had! VAS - thank you so much for your email. Am going to write you back this morning. SnowPants - Thank you so much. I wrote this awhile back but it was one of those poems that came out easier, and for that I was thankful. Bill - You've made my day! Thank you so much for your compliment. NC - Thank you for the email. I was so thrilled to see you again. Keep in touch! ATelamon - Thank you. I sent you an email. Lady In White - Thank you for your comment. A very growing experience, isn't it? "The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new. Socrates |

In a very short span of time, this piece explores complex and contradictory human emotions so well...refelection, regret, sadness, hope, self realization...the imagery of two, separated by mountains...the well worn path of reconciliation...never quite meeting at the mountain top...these are memorable! Celeste......(pausing)....I don't believe I've ever written the name "Celeste" before. What does "Celeste" mean? Maybe I can look up. Gauging by the number of replies it looks like it could mean "she who has many friends". Bob (which means...."man who speaks too much") PS Have a good day, Celeste. |

Celeste, love should be enough. . . why it isn't. . .I don't know. . . *sigh*. . . excellent. . . I really can relate. . . --------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
