The flakes swarm to kiss the unveiled neck. Then, they vanish, like she, whose tears have yet to dry on my shoulder. Looking at life in retrospect, I conclude that I’ve lost more than I meant to. Tired hands pull the curtains to hide a cloud that has shaded the sun and made the world gray. In the absence of others, one begins to doubt one’s own existence. The mirrors reflect dismay. Afraid of the mournful eye, the mirrors shatter and twisted images scatter around the room. Like a moth seeking light, I continue to flutter around sharp visions, alone, in gloom. "I conclude that I've lost more than I've meant to." Feel like this right now...James |
