well worn marshmallow heart best tasting it seems when an outer shell is charred and black at best roaming indications travel far through the core and come out soaked and sticky on the other side poke a stick through it and see how the charred outside just slides off in a puffy bitter tasting crispy sensation draw the stick out as if an arrow through a gaping wound getting it all over the fingers and ooze of sticky white and freckled black then hesitates while hardening on the fingers careful not to let it burn you not to worry it cools quickly gathering back its form in some distorted new way "This above all-ask yourself in the stillest hour of your night:MUST I write? Delve into yourself for a deep answer. Rainer Maria Rilke from "Le |

Wow - an excellent use of a metaphor to express your heartbreak. *sighs* I have felt like this before, it does pass, hugs to you~ Take care, Melissa~ |

I've always been one to peel off that outer shell to get to the good stuff!!! This is wonderful. . . I love what you've done with this one. . . the metaphor is excellent. . . --------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Yes it can gather back it's form in a new and distorted way...I am so glad it can there have been so many roasts...thank goodness for the refreshing cool off period... well done!! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

Fortunally, when a heart get distorted, it learns. I liked this one! A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |
