“A TREE THAT CRIED” by Bill Charles ~~~~ Have you ever seen a tree crying, when the morning sun, melts the dew… I saw it very plainly that autumn day, so please take a look, and perhaps you’ll see it too… When it’s leaves drop, I believe they’re tears, like mine that keep falling, from my eyes… And the sap that flows through its bark, is the same as my heart, bleeding, from too many cries… I know that there must be some correlation, with this tree that has feelings, so much like mine… There must be an attachment to share our pain, and to be sad together, with neither one being fine… Perhaps there is something I haven’t realized, that maybe a tree can show its emotions too… But I’m very aware that my being, has almost died, as I sit here with my friend….., a tree….., ‘A Tree That Cried’, as I… ~~~~ |

Oh Bill, this broke my heart This is just so sad, yet, expressed so very well, it touched me and I certainly can relate. You know the phrase - "give a tree a hug today," well, my friend, here's a BIG HUG FOR YOU! Take care, Melissa~ |

Yes I believe that your "tree" cries the same as you. Remember that when spring comes it will have a smile as new leaves covers its branches. Hopefully you'll renew your smile when spring arrives. |

excellent imagery.. yes!.. I see a weeping willow tree with drops .. falling off it's branches... like it's crying. wonder what you see ..... when a tree is gleaming like diamonds... with frost and blinding light. Standing in silence.. frozen in time. wonder what you see... when a tree is bending in the wind... trying to stay planted.... against.. all odds.. wonder what you see.. when a tree is standing in fall, leaves ... falling one by one.. like being stripped of it's clothing.. Please continue.. I love trees! (smile) Kay-lynn **A dream is a wish your heart makes :) |

Sad but so beautiful Bill I really enjoyed this so much....good writing! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

Melissa Honeybee - what a pretty name you have, and a heart that goes with it. Thank you for the big hug, as I can use it about now. inot2B - yes, my tree does cry, as I. And perhaps when spring does come, a tear will turn into a smile. Thank you so much. Poet deVine - by all means, the newsletter it is for your consideration. Thank you very much, it's an honor to be considered. Kay-lynn - thank you for the most warm response to this writing. And, it's nice to know that we are neighbors, as I'm down here in Huntsville, AL. And my reply can be seen, under "WHAT ABOUT THOSE TREES". Thank you. fallen rain - thank you for coming by, and I'm glad that you liked this poem. I have found that a tree can be a friend, believe it or not. And I would be interested in the book "the fall of freddie the leaf". I'm on ICQ, or send an email if you wish. ethome - nice to see you, and I still say that Canada is one of my most favorite places. I'm glad that you liked this writing, and appreciate the comments. |
