The garden gate is open, love, and there I wait for you… Within the walls, the roses climb, and all are kissed by dew… I’m waiting by a trickling stream, with sunlight dancing there… And songbirds high above are filling up the morning air… All around me, roses grow, and lilacs add their scent… Wild orchids bloom and never fade… For lover’s eyes, they’re meant… And as I wait on grassy knoll. I smell a fragrance sweet… It’s coming from the Scottish heather, blooming at my feet! The sun is high above, and dancing gently on my skin… As I lie in wait for you, I listen to the wind… It brings your voice back to my ear, I hear you call my name… Upon my heart, your sound will be forevermore ingrained… You’re standing at the garden gate… I’m waiting just inside… And now the hand of fate will choose, what love cannot decide… You step inside the open gate… within the trellis fence… My eyes meet yours, and deep inside, I know I’ve met my Prince… Our love has found this Passion Garden, where our hearts can go… And if we tend it faithfully, our love can surely grow… In Passion’s Garden, love can grow with nothing left to chance… The gate is always open… To the hearts that seek romance… Live...Love...Be grateful for both!! |

Wonderful write! I love the images and I took them to heart...well done!! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

Loved it. All the colors were right. It made the poem float as a feather. A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |

Sunny, this is one of my favorites. And the picture is beautiful also. Did you paint that one? Love the way you used the gates and the garden as symbols, it worked perfectly. Sandra |
