with this old guitar in my hands and insanity in my heart I'm playing blue notes and chords sitting in the dark baby you were lying and I feel like a fool and I got a heavy fever left over from you I put my trust in your promises and you were hoping I would too cause you knew I'd be waiting for them to come true then along came old Santa sweet daddy claus and gave you everything a woman would want Baby this old guitar don't settle no scores but someday woman he ain't gonna want you no more and you're gonna cry girl when he shuts up the door and I'll be here healing with these blue notes and chords now these misty eyes are staring at four walls and the door and on this old guitar I'm playing blue notes and chords and I can see you out driving your brand new car while I sit here on the floor with scars on my heart so when you see me baby don't ask me how I've been cause you know I've been alone while you been with him and girl don't say someday maybe we'll talk cause you ain't no friend... the only friend I got is this old guitar and these blue notes and chords and for better or worse I don't need nothing more with this old guitar in my hands I'm gonna play right through the pain right through the darkness right through the rain til I can face the days with my spirit restored with this old guitar and these blue notes and chords |

I'm no musician, but damn, this would make a good song! Great inspiration.! A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |

Ethome....no longer do I read responses to a poetic endeavor...I respond directly... and to this piece, I say...perhaps...perhaps this is why God created music.... well done, my friend... |

You do have a wonderful way with the blues. Do you attend any blues festivals? I know of at least one in NB. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |
