My Valentine My mind grew a valentine Cultivated through the year. From a special clinging vine Twisted round my hearts endear. Warm and tender pure in grace Lighting up the dark of night Beautiful in living space Making gold my day in light. Lovely as a blooming flower With an effervescent scent Holds me in its awesome power Touching me with magic’s vent. Seized me in the grip of love And I cannot turn or stray Like a cage about a dove Tamed and will not fly away. She is my only valentine Wrapped around this heart of mine. |
