Fingering a Phrase Phase to turn a phrase I take my pen wrap it around my fingers and then write my mind turn corners sharp with a little speed then speed of warp as if in need… I wonder then who shall find these little ditty words of mine be they big or be they tall be they boisterous or spirit small ~ shall they smile with little guile? ~ so what if my mind is dumpy and gray even when I've not much to say my fingers take on a life of their own sometimes I think "on and on they drone" but then I just leave them alone till they work themselves down to their bone… and then… and then….. that is when the mind takes over and fresh as fields of purple clover it goes running like that old dog Rover playing with its bone even though these fingers are tired and weary my mind awakes bright and cheery wanting then to take them on and Fingers look at Mind… and off they wander, long gone… "she turns a phrase," ~ a passing phase ~ oh, it's been said and I ponder if, when my mind was dead, you knew my fingers were doing the walking when all along you thought it was my gray a'talking… so my mind takes a twist but then it detours when once it was set now is unsure it looks 'round corners and only finds mirrors it seems to fly upward then caught in downdraft sheer as one side fights with the other side's way the mind in abeyance is held up in sway and while it's pondering on thoughts long gone those fingers come back to wander on, and on…. so next ponder when you're out walking if it's you and your mind; or if it's your fingers that do all the talking…. 02.12.01 |

My mind, my fingers, my heart.....they all have a mind of their own and go walking as they choose! No wonder I get into so much trouble. This was a playful phase with phrases and I enjoyed it immensely----no matter who was doing the walking. |
