The magic of time Time is the grail of illusion, As slippery as an eel. It moves the world to conclusion No matter how we feel. It plays upon all finite things By magic of its moves. It circles with infinite wings What ever it behooves It is the coinage of our realm Basket of our charity Takes and often overwhelms much To our disparity. We genuflect with a headstone In place when we are done And hope that all would not bemoan The place it all begun. Time is all, the mount of our goal But does not exist to our soul. Ya made Father Time kick up his heels and chase Mother Nature round the clocktower (or was that Randy) *winkiewinkie* "Time is the grail of illusion," "It is the coinage of our realm" very cool Sy-babes ... very wise as well. Where the touch of the lover ends And the soul of the friend begins There's a need to be separate and a need to be one And a struggle neither wins |

Seymour, it's awfully good to read you again. This piece, not surprisingly, is superb and well composed. Do check L2 for a wee typo, and am wondering about the line break in S3 L3, but tiny nits for a most lovely poem. Thank you, Sy. I've always wondered why time flies so quickly when I'm with friends and drags whenever I'm in a meeting... Now I know. Time is magic... and so is your poem! *S* |
