My daddy spoke in graveled voice Matter-fact No-life-of-choice and spoke of times I could not know and how he watched the cotton grow and watched a flower's bloom with dread knowing fingers bleed of bed prick of thistles fingers bled white cotton dripping droplets red and then? he smiled. and then? i wept.... to know that I am droplet kept. Oh, Karen, this was just so uniquely expressed and the rhyme and flow was perfect. Into the library this goes, this is my favourite of yours, I've read it over many times already, I feel different emotions each time. The cotton/flowers blooming/red droplets were great images to use. What an ending! Please forgive me, if I am wrong, but this touches me with both sadness, but, relief at the end Take care, Melissa~ [This message has been edited by Melissa Honeybee (edited 02-11-2001).] |

Serenity, this is a fantastic piece. The contrast of crimson and cotton white evoke thoughts of Another's blood shed that we may be made white as snow. from droplet kept |

There isn't enough in one drop to capture the reflections of your wonder and spirit but maybe in a downpour we may taste a bit of the splendor you carry. This is a lovely write and filled with an emotion that is shared between the droplets of time and write the analogs that age in perfection. If you find yourself stranded in a storm ...then reach for my hand and we will play in the puddles together |
