I listen to the CDs you got me Almost every day It makes me remember sneaking into your tapes Finding the ones you told me not to touch And listening anyways………… I have the ceramic kitten in the boot You got for me in Germany In my kitchen, where I can see it And I remember, that was the first gift you ever gave me Mom and dad didn't make you…………….you did it just because I was such a brat of a sister I didn't realize what a great friend I had in you Until you were half way around the world Then I wished only………….to turn back time Take it back…………start over………….do it different I listen to the CDs you got me Almost everyday I still can't believe you got them for me I listen to the CDs you got me………………… And I miss you Big Brother. 2-09-01 7:00 pm ~SEA~ |

Very nice sentiment here. And it does often take us too long to realize the importance of siblings. I feel sad for those who never attain what you have. Nice job. AT While it may be true that "No man is an island..." You must admit there are some damn big peninsulas out there. |

very sweet and sincere Sea-gator ... these are the lessons in life we can only learn as we go and grow .. and now to the really important question?? WHAT groovy tunes did he give ya??? LOL later-did ya give this to him-gator? jm Where the touch of the lover ends And the soul of the friend begins There's a need to be separate and a need to be one And a struggle neither wins |

Victoria~ yes, my brother and I fought terribly most of the time........now that I'm older, I can appreciate his humor and wit........unfortunately he is in Korea. ATelamon~ thank you.......I just wish we could have been closer growing up........it would have been so much more fun PixieChild~ funny how the distance opens our eyes and our hearts.........glad you could relate Kathleen~ I'm so happy to hear from you! I'm glad you're hangin out still........I hope you take the time you need to heal.....but please stay close enough to say hello....thanks for reading......Hugs right back to you!! DG~ that sounds like fun..........I wish I could have had that with my brother....... Charisma~ you are most welcome sweet lady......glad you liked! Sunshine~ he teased ALL the time LOL that's the problem.......I didn't recognise it as play........I do now though........( and yes, I was a brat........truly ) Janet~ The Groovy tunes were, of course, Prince..........the 3 CD collection of the hits/ B-sides.......he knows I love his music and brought it from Korea this past July. I usually have one of the 3 playing while I'm on the computer, or doing my chores....... yes, I e-mailed it to him last night...... ~SEA |

I always wished for an older brother....you are very lucky, Sea! Good to know you realize it. I'm sure your brother thinks he has a great little sister, too! |

SEA- Oh how I can relate to this. First I must say this was just so beautiful and sincere. I am sure he feels the same way towards you. I have 2 younger sisters who are 2 and 5 years apart from me. Being the eldest...I feel I sorta grew up alone...and when I did interact with them, we fought like cats and dogs LOL. But now they are my two best friends in the world. Amazing how things change huh? Lovely write! Take care Amy "A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words." |

Delightful and refreshing read...great family thoughts....good work! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

Ahhh SEA ... you've touched my heart strings with this sweet poem. How many times my older sister told me not to touch her albums ... but I always found a way, LOL! This is a warm and wonderful tribute to your brother ... a treasure! Best wishes, /Kit |

SEA the most simple gifts at times are the ones we appreciate the most, especially when they remind us of the ones that we love most dear. such a gentle reminder of how much your big brother is loved and missed by you. God bless you, Bob <>< |
