Loving You

In loving you I’ve found a simple truth,
That joys of love we search for dwell within,
And true love won’t demand or seek a proof,
But yearns to please the heart it aches to win.
Yet pleasing musn’t be a source of strain,
For purest love surprises with its ease.
A cup of tea, a special song’s refrain,
A quiet walk, and love is ours to sieze.
Though passions fierce must cause our blood to boil,
The quietude from gazing in your eyes,
Reminds me that our love is free of toil,
And calms me when the strains of life arise.

So let our love be simple full and free,
Pretending not, so what may be may be.
