No Longer Needed

I no longer worry about Valentine's Day
nor the messages spread world round.
I no longer expect that one reddish rose
that grew from the love of earth's ground.

I only believe in the words and the deeds
that can show me I'm worthy, your love.
In return you will have the most wonderful me
you could ever, would ever dream of.

I'll pamper your mind as I do unto you
all the "do unto's" you'd like me to.
In return I'll expect that you'll rain me the same
as we share each day, as if new.

Then the gifts for that day, will be plenty and few
wrapped in feelings of heart, yours and mine.
Together, forever we'll share with each kiss
a reminder for each, Valentine.

Sy, thank you for reading, sometimes I think holidays are not what they use to be, too much is made out of them when everyday should feel as wonderful as one can make it, it's feelings that count ...~S~
