There was a bit of bread that was my last, Water washing the crust so dry flaking, And start a long journey while starting fast, Without water for a thirst new slaking Each step, each foot before one another, By force of will going along the way; The path through where darkness will gather, Old known walking a familiar pathway. The trees holding onto nothing but air, Through which winter’s fiercest winds are blowing, With the broken crust of ice everywhere, His steps, the old footprints are now showing. Eyes are open and the winter is bare, A path to the springtime, no fasting there. Gloom. |

I like this very much. I'm going to ask you for permission to use it in our newsletter in the future when we have an issue dedicated to nature. |

I missed this one too---so sorry...the forums move so fast these days...a remarkable sonnet--very happy that the hawk eyed PdV noticed! and let's spin it around again, yes? Beautiful imagery! |
