I have a "little" sister who is a beauty to behold I am the big sister with two brothers in between And here is the story just waiting to be told Just why she is the best that I have ever seen I was at Grandma's when the phone call came Mom was at our RN aunt's and I got to hear That baby's cry and such a lovely name But I had to wait a week before I got to see her She had black hair and big blue eyes And looked like she had a beautiful sun tan Boy did she look different from us blond guys Oh how I loved her when she held my hand Dad said she took after the Indian side Gosh but I was so very proud And asked questions and wanted to know which tribe That was the start of many answers not found As I got older and looked for the Indian ancestor I found out a Great-Grandpa had a prison record He was taken at Getteysburg and for 2yrs. a prisoner But no brave or maiden in that decade to report I've looked and hoped to find a warm trail The closest I came was an uncle, 4 times removed Who married an Indian maid, oh what a tale Think this is what Dad meant by just a little fooled Dad is gone and all the oldsters who would know We never found the Indian that my sister could be So I just have to pretend that it must be so And she is the most beautiful Indian to me We always laugh and joked About the blue-eyed, red-skinned maid Now with Grand kids who are hooked On looking for the Indian brave |

Always wondered where that "indian in the woodpile" story came from. Enjoyed the read, the tale, the telling of it and the visuals it created. jwesley |

I enjoy the way you tell your stories. Take care! " I have seen without perceiving I have been another man Let me pierce the realm of glamour So I know just what I am"....Dweller on the Threshold, |
