Doll House Of Lies ~*~ Promises of love given to a sweet little girl dressed with hope, ribbons and curls, endless hours are filled on rainy days as little girl giggles, fantasizes and plays, a mommy and a daddy doll, she cradles in her hands, imagination is taken to heaven's magical lands, a doll house of wonders to build her dreams upon but, the wait for her true love has been too long, slowly, in mundane wait, years pass by little girl becomes a woman, alone, to cry, the wallpapered sky weeps from scar eyed clouds, dust envelops doll rooms, concealing this dark shroud, little doll eyes are filled with gloom petite silk roses no longer bloom, there, she remains, surrounded by spider webs on walls as faith is bled from this lonely doll, still, she prays for her prince to walk through the door to save her from winds echoing - wisps of peace nevermore, he does exist - he's on his way, but, he must have lost the map seeking the cheese of dreams, prince now slayed in the trap, her screams tiptoe around the room quiet as a mouse, dying, never loved, within this once cherished miniature house, for, teddy bears, figurines and balloons are a thin disguise to hide broken promises - this doll house of lies ~*~ *By Melissa Honeybee* The beauty of poetry gives my soul wings to fly free within dreams ~Melissa P. Melissa this is awesome. I grew up with this dollhouse too, and it is so hard sometimes to accept that reality will never be what we expected. You portrayed this perfectly. Sandra Dream as if you'll live forever; Live as if you'll die today. — James Dean |

Melissa, Oh! What a wonderful but sad poem. With the beauty in you hold in your soul, your prince will surely come to carry you off into the sunset. I just hope he deserves a sensitive heart like yours . Big hugs to you. ~~Tara aka rp25 [This message has been edited by rosepetals25 (edited 02-03-2001).] |
