The tongue wields daunting power It bestows both sweet and sour; It can heal or it can harm Yes, it can cut or it can charm; It can sing a lullaby Yet it can, too, so vilify; It can rend a tender heart; Such tenderness it can impart; The choice is yours – for good or ill; Such awesome power lies in the will. This moved me to tears, yes, sometimes our words can destroy what we have tried all of our lives to build, and you can't take them back. Thank you, Denise. "I walked beside the evening sea And dreamed a dream that could not be." George William Curtis |
