A Wynter's Mourn (Sonnet) Awaken to the sound of rain Each movement made of sighing pain. Each thought erupts, perhaps to view Wondering when, the whys of two. A young girl dreams in future daze. She grasps at straws, gets shortened end. The prize, not hers, at rainbow's bend. Like rivers flow, the tears begin, Captured, webbed, in silkened spin. Grown up now, she waits in daze. The widow, laced, in heart of black. For waiting still, a love in lack. Forever, never comes her days. She mourns the rain, in misted haze. ~Wynter "The worst prison would be a closed heart". ...Pope John Paul II |

I can't think of anything to say but beautiful, and that seems so trite for a poem as articulately written as this one. Very nice, Wynter, worth reading and re-reading. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

I read the first line and I was hooked...I love rain. I haven't tried a sonnet but once, and I can't seem to master it! Loved this one! "I walked beside the evening sea and dreamed a dream that could not be." George William Curtis |
