I put pen to paper To try to write my heart To tell you how I feel Though we are far apart My mind it tends to wander Back to moments spent with you All the hours we've shared talking The feelings we tried to subdue My thoughts come back to this paper To the words I've written there They still dont say whats in my heart About the one that I hold dear So I try once more to tell you How this heart feels like its home Whenever we are together Theres no more need to roam All this time that I've been writing A song plays in my mind And the message that it sends me Says words are sometimes hard to find The words are very simply sung And this is what they say Its only words...and words are all I have To take your heart away So maybe if I loved you less Or maybe if I loved you more It wouldnt be so hard to find The words I'm searching for I hope that when you read this You will hear what my heart has to say Its whispering these words so softly I miss and love you more each day Its only words...but words are all I have...to take your heart away (lyrics by the BeeGees) [This message has been edited by Paula Finn (edited 01-29-2001).] |

sometimes that's the best way to tell if the emotion is raw and pure; a good feeling. you can't filter it thru your mouth. You gotta love livin, cause dyin's a pain in the ass. |

Paula love, it may be only words but you have put them in a way that only you could. You have written a beautiful and wonderfully pure piece, as always. Do I love this, Yes, it is absolutely perfectly Paula. (Which means it's outstanding, and excellant) in fact that should be a word to describe something that is fabulous, I could say this is a Paula and everyone would know instantly that it was truly outstanding. Take care love Mushy Another one in my library. Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |

I agree with Mushy! It may be only words but you have written them from the depths of your heart and that's what makes them so wonderful! |

That song has always been a favorite of mine. *S* And this poem is beautiful... we can do nothing more than give all we are and have... the rest is up to someone else. *S* |

Paula, This is very close to my heart, a beautifully written emotional poem. I loved it all along. One of the great BeeGees songs "Don't Forget to Remember me" tells a great tale for me. Somehow it seemed very appropriate at a moment in my life I was torn to pieces. Keep on writing. "I hope that when you read this You will hear what my heart has to say Its whispering these words so softly I miss and love you more each day" Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love (Daniel J D) |

'My thoughts come back to this paper To the words I've written there They still dont say whats in my heart About the one that I hold dear' I so know what you are talking about here, Paula! Seems all these thoughts are in my head, but no pen and paper could do them justice...excellently penned, though! I love it! sp 'cause I want nothing more than to sit outside heaven's door and listen to you breathing... |
