When Did I Know When did I know? When I realized that with just a thought In you I have found ... all I have sought Your touch ... just as gentle as the breath of a child Your reach ... more than the span of two hearts in time Your charm ... filled with the passion of heaven gone wild Your words ... ringing as silent as a cathedral's chime When did it show? When once again I opened my eyes to see The blessing of you ... you bestowed on me In whispers ... etching your words in the songs you sing In tears ... cleansing your doubt to make room for two In fears ... abandoned as you stretched out your wings In times ... when I awoke smiling with the taste of you How will it grow? Where will this road take us when we start I am not sure ... but you will have my heart Slowly ... as we learn to dance on the winds of song Firmly ... with trust brighter than a star with a view Softly ... searching petals of promise growing strong Quietly ... echoing shouts of freedom in "I love you" When did I know? When I realized that I wasn't writing for you! Mark Christopher Waiting for you is the easiest pain I have ever suffered [This message has been edited by Mark Bohannan (edited 01-28-2001).] |

Superb, Mark! Absolutely wonderful, and the line at the end..."When I realized I wasn't writing for you" that is absolutely it, isn't it! We may write to someone, we may write to be read, but really, above all we write for ourselves...our obsession to write. Well done!!! |

Mark, you don't need me to tell you what a beautiful poem this is, or how you make your readers feel every line, but it is and you do. You inspire me to think about how I would answer the same questions. In other words, you succeed on every level here. Wonderful read! Mark this is so well constructed to make the reader absorb the exceptional tenderness of the subject. Very very well done my friend. I know what you are saying in the last line and it's true but you also are very gifted at writing for the reader. This part of the satisfaction that a writer feels, when he/she can capture the reader and you have done this very well here...great stuff! Write'em cowboy!! |

Oh my goodness Mark, this has climbed to the tops of my "favorites" list...I still hold a special few near and dear but I'm allowed as those were written just for me....but this one is so beautiful...etched with style and grace...even the most beautiful butterfly wings would pale next to the beauty of this piece Mark....Your poetry shines a light on your heart like nothing else my friend and to watch it glow is like watching a star being born in the darkest night....stunning sweet poet....simply stunning~ You can swim in the waves of the weave...without sinking into the mind of the weaver~ |

Marge-Thank you so much. I thought I would try a little something new in the format arena. I am glad you liked it my friend. James-Thank you much. Koko-I am glad you thought so. Thank you kindly. Agust P-I am glad you liked it. Thanks for stopping by. Marsha-I am glad the images came out in this one no matter how soft. Thank you much. Karilea-Thank you for the kind words. Always nice to get them from you. Kit-My friend, I do thank you for the wonderful reply and I am glad you liked the style and the signature. Charisma-And it is always nice to have you grace me with your sweet words. Thank you so much. JM-Well, I did a different style as you requested and YES I am trying to work on the sonnet thing. I am not promising anything anytime soon though okay? Thank you for your never ending supply of enthusiasm and I hope she knows how lucky I feel that she would ask me to not give up on her. suthern-Sneak up on me it did and while it is only in the phase of a deep love of respect and friendship, I do hope that her and I will be able to see just where it leads one day. Thank you very much for your kind words once again. Amy-Thank you so much my friend. I hope someday to let a little of it out in the open instead of leaving it inside for now. Victoria-You honor me by adding it to your favorite list and I thank you dearly. Virginia-That is it exactly. While the emotions may be for her, the writing is my way of releasing it a bit since she and I cannot be together right now. kcsgrandma-If I succeeded in making you think of the same questions then I am very happy. Thank you for those very kind words. ethome-Well, with a reply as wonderful as that how could I not agree to keep writing. Thank you so much my friend. Nice to see you back with us. Sy-Crawled and climbed is more like it. Thank you kind sir. You always honor me with such kindness. Mother_Earth-I truely hope she does and I hope she knows that it all comes straight from the heart. Thank you so much for always lighting up my day. Gale-Thank you so much. I am glad you found it beautiful. Deb-With the inspiration you always leave behind, how could I not. Thank you dearly my poet friend for always bringing a smile to me. Poeminister-Was a test style and something definitely new to me so I am truely happy that you liked it. Thank you much. SEA-I think that would work for most of us. Thank you very much. Holly-Wow.........now what am I to say to that without getting myself caught in a trail of butterfly wings. Thank you so much and for you to move this to the top of your favorites says more and means more than I could ever begin to say. Thank you my sweet friend and forever SM. Hugs to you. snowpants-The comparisons were quite vivid when they came out so I am glad you liked them. Thanks so much my friend and Cardinal fan to be. Greeneyes-So many superlatives........WOW........thank you so very much. Coco-Whether it is or not, you never fail to make me feel that it is. Thank you so very much for always being there. You are highly treasured and not just by me but everyone here. If you find yourself stranded in a storm ...then reach for my hand and we will play in the puddles together |
