It will help to be familiar with the children's book, "Miss Nelson is Missing" when you read this poem. Crab-Apple Just for You Virginia Salter I gots me a crab-apple for Miss Viola Swamp on the way to grammar school goin’ marchin’ with a tromp cuz’ this is gonna be her last day in our class our teacher’s comin’ back yeah, we’re all gonna pass ‘nd when I gets me there I’m gonna have some fun I’ll give Swamp that crab-apple while she’s standin’ in the sun the light’ll reflect off it that apple tidbit in the glare leaving no choice for us but to stop and laugh and stare to Miss Viola Swamp we’ll gladly bid adieu yes, me and him and Gerald and him and me and you that’s ‘xactly what we’re gonna do! yes, me and him and Gerald and him and me and you © September 24, 2000 |

Well thank you both! Miss Viola Swamp is Miss Nelson's substitute teacher. She's a real 'witchy' crabby person. I'm a substitute teacher, so this was kinda fun for me to do. Though, I kind of hope no one ever wants to give me a crab-apple. I've been in some classrooms, though, that I could easily have earned one. ;o};o{ LOL |
