Cut lengthwise; whatever works for you. Everything’s ducky on novocaine, gray rain and pain. It hurt me to read that. I wish love for humankind was a pill you could ingest, breathing in with the rainy waves. It’s a sad, sad day. You healed, then blew apart like a cloud. The patter of your maker’s feet. His words gave no comfort. In fact, they made no sense. Their sole function was to destroy themselves, not to remove the clinging noose for a string of small happiness. Listening makes me cry. “Eat your prison bread,” you said. Rain-softened and stale. “Everything’s on the surface.” When I’m here, all I want to do is leave. everyone plays solitaire when they’re alone. But enough about my libido and these gray sheets called my home. The plaster saint is plastic, and melting in god’s rain. |

Mike...this one touched me on a very personal level...and right now, I find no comfort in plastic saints either. This is a great poem m'friend. And now I think I'm going to go crawl back under the covers... |

The sermon topic in church today was: Silent Night, Lonely Night This piece certainly is in that same vein. It's very well written loneliness, grayness, blandness. The lonely, apathetic life, whose high points are its low points. Did I just say that? I think I may have a new topic for a poem, not new, though, is it? |

S'en, get out of bed! The world needs ya. VAS, Actually, the poem is more my reaction to my fifteen year old cousin telling me she tried to kill herself. That's always lovely. SpitFire, Thanks for reading. And oh yes, you will be back. Mike |
