Mukilteo brother little... Gregory Steven Gwaltney... was the first to take me there, we sat watching the tides and waves roll way and back again. Talking of life’s times, troubles, & bouts rolling in, you know just the things in which we held & no one to share ‘em with the things we had that burned within & never could forget I never dreamed of now and how I’d e’er be here again but life is changed my luck & just a year before he died sat with tears and talked of many years and rolling sighs passed thoughts a late mama’s tide only months before it seemed mama’s death had crushed him in a way I never knew could be & shortly after he followed in her steps and let his ghost run free. On our Home Site “Crossing Rivers” there's a “Sliding Sunsets” page & that pic. it just happens is taken there that’s my priceless Rosemary e’er saving what we knew. And it’s true, when younger I kinda got loaded down there & I did lose those keys, yep you know, some where in the sand never again seen, I felt so bad... She had to walk three miles with a bloody foot all mushed and jammed with gook and sand. We there go now for pics & memories even though I tell myself I shouldn’t here go again. It’s kinda much rememberin’ as the waves keep rolling in still our kids don’t fathom it, but you know... they love bare feet, and of course the silky sand . Written by Dale Wayne Gwaltney his older brother. This should've never been . [This message has been edited by lucky (edited 12-03-2000).] |

This is beautifully worded - the phrase "he followed in her steps and let his ghost run free" gave me the shivers. I'll never forget Greg, just as I'll never forget the shores we all ran while young, and then the years afterward. It's just as well the kids don't fathom all the pain, don't you think? They're fortunate, that way. You are my deepest comfort, and dearest love. I hope and pray I am a comfort to you too. Your sweet love is infinitely precious to me! I thank God for it all the time! < !signature--> The spiritual wind that holds survivors aloft, plants the seeds from which bloom new hope ... R.J.G. [This message has been edited by Rosemary J.
