~Mere Words Wont Do You Justice~

Lonely is just too pretty of a word ... to define the way I sometimes feel ...
it could never do this ache for you justice ... cant describe it and make it feel real.
Tears is just too little of a word ... to define the way I sometimes cry ...
for I could drown in my own river of tears ... I fear these eyes will never run dry.

Poetry is just too vague of a word ... to define my desperate need to write ...
it's the only thing that comforts me ... all that holds me in the dark of night.
Muse is just too small of a word ... to define the inspiration I find in you ...
the sole reason for my rhyme ... my pen exists only to write verse to be held true.

Desire is just to cold of a word ... to define the fire that burns inside of me ...
it cant describe the flames that rise up ... cant explain the depth of the intensity.
Love is just not enough of a word ... to define my undying emotion ...
it would take a volume of poetic words ... to describe my heart's devotion.

There are times when my words fail me ... when they simply wont define ...
still I will always write for you ... etching this love in the sands of time.
For all I have left are my words ... and the God given gift of poetry ...
so I engrave your name in poetic gold ... to hold you forever in fate and destiny.

Janet Marie

for DeVante' ... the reason I write ... always

~Looking Into You~
BY: Jackson Browne

Well I looked into dream of the millions
That one day the search will be through
Now here I stand at the edge of my embattled illusions
Looking into you

The great song traveler passed through here
And he opened my eyes to the view
And I was among those who called him a prophet
And I asked him what was true
Until the distance had shown how the road remains alone
Now I'm looking in my life for a truth that is my own

Well I looked into the sky for my anthem
And the words and the music came through
But words and music can never touch the beauty that I've seen
Looking into you -- and that's true

***********

~Sky Blue and Black~
BY: Jackson Browne

I hear the sound of the world where we played
And the far too simple beauty
Of the promises we made

If you ever need holding
Call my name, I'll be there
If you ever need holding
And no holding back, I'll see you through
Sky blue and black

Where the touch of the lover ends
And the soul of the friend begins
There's a need to be separate and a need to be one
And a struggle neither wins
Where you gave me the world I was in
And a place I could make a stand
I could never see how you doubted me
When I'd let go of your hand

And I'd have fought the world for you
If I thought that you wanted me to
Or put aside what was true or untrue
If I'd know that's what you needed
What you needed me to do

But the moment has passed by me now
To have put away my pride
And just come through for you somehow

If you ever need holding
Call my name, I'll be there
If you ever need holding
And no holding back, I'll see you through

You're the color of the sky
Reflected in each store-front window pane
You're the whispering and the singing
Of my tires in the rain
You're the hidden cost and the thing that's lost
In everything I do
Yeah and I'll never stop looking for you
In the sunlight and the shadows
And the faces on the avenue
That's the way love is
That's the way love is
That's the way love is
Sky blue and black

< !signature-->

Sprayed across my heart and hers
Danced butterflies in the wild
This angel, this woman ,
who loves me with the innocence of a child.
~DeVante~

What gifts he left you Janet Marie...what tenderness, inspiration, love, caring...I do not know the whole story, but one can see, this was a romance beyond those that most know today...this was indeed one of those made in heaven, met on earth, and will go on forever...

I salute your heart, and his gifts, that he left within you...

and I so appreciate the time you take to share them with all here...

as always beautiful and such inspirational
work from your pen. whenever you write for
and with Devante your loving spirit and
heart coming shining through. but it's
more than that I think. it's as if a part
of him writes along with him, and i must
say it is simple amazing!

Your pen flows with such beauty Janet Marie ... the emotions you describe are so incredibly descriptive, one can't help but simply "feel" the love portrayed so gracefully through these lines. Beautiful JM!

Janet Marie, this is exceptional, even by your standards, which always exceed the superb. Truth and love mingle with an angels grace, and combine to make your writing truly perfect. I thank you for sharing the gift of De Vante with us. Your heart which is so clearly within this gift makes it even clearer that you have been touched by angels. Wonderful poem, truly beautiful and so pure, I love this I really do.
Take care

You know, Janet Marie, it really is a God given gift isn't it?  And He certainly has blessed you in abundance with it.  This is most beautiful, the picture, everything and the time you spent putting it all together.
Thank you for this one.  You are incredible!

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.

Much as i love the approopriateness and beauty of the Jackson Brown addendums - which I might not ever get to see/read - I must tell you - (you may already know) that the wonderful words you write of your own heart - need no professional backup - they stand on their own very beautifully.

The words certainly haven't escaped the wonderful ponder of your pen...out of which pours treasures of poetic magic that open the chambers of the reader's mind.. you are as addicted as I am dear poet lady...those poignant wave interactions from the seat of emotion... the waves that fill the artist with passion and desire to create..to expose one's actual bared naked soul to the outside .....a cascade of expressions dressed in the dark colors of tears or the brilliant colors of happiness...the you ... the real you sharing feelings making us all brothers and sisters exercising our talents with a poet's signifigant expressions....words creating the most vivid virtual worlds for our fellow readers.. beautiful words dear poet lady... may you continue on forever.......etVANhome

original song I'm working on...just can't help myself!!

well I gotta say one thing
if I could change your mind I'd be happy again
in every dream and every thought I see your face
smiling at me

well from my heart strings
I can feel a sadness churning in me
like the wind upon a falling leaf
spinning me round and round.

and oh, my crying mind drives me insane
I hear your mystic voice calling my name
if I could change it all I'd still be with you
now I know the truth.

chorus:
Oh I'm like a gypsy with nowhere to be
I got a crazy magic potion working in me
trapped in a lover's cell to never be free
you're stuck in my heart....though we're apart...
I can't forget about you
I can't forget about you

i know not the story either but on a personal level, i related to the sentiments here..sometimes i wonder why i write cos i cant really find the words to express articulately my feelings...sigh....i must say though that your words seem enough...even by not describing fully those emotions, a reader can feel what you are getting at...

JM my sweetness, your words are always exceptional but when you write in celebration of your De Vante then they take on a whole new meaning of TRUE LOVE and SINCERITY.  Each one is better than the last and that is no easy task.  I have the pleasure of knowing the story behind the story and I thank you for sharing not only that with me but also your beautiful friendship.  You know that you mean the world to me and the warmth you put into all those that you touch is only one reason why and that warmth glows off the page in this one.  Hugs to you sweetie.
