I sleep the night to dream your whispers, Your gentle touch of ocean eyes. Your masked marauding captures me, In all your worlds of shared disguise. To fade into your heart each night, To hold each beat then offered me. A promise felt in every way, From each caress, eternally. Secrets shared beneath the covers. Two enwrapped, in sweet retreat. Sighs exposing, treasures found, When nights silence enters deep. Come each morn, when light has broken, Memories reach to touch the pale. The guise, once more becomes the normal, Another dawning, to leave it's trail. A painted canvas breaks the silence, Eyes take in what hearts do bare. Widening the view, horizons, Opening new worlds to share. Secrets shared beneath the covers, Warmed by moonlight's blanket, soft. Stolen moments held in fullness, Dreaming whispers sent aloft.~~~~~ ~Wynter..I was challenged to a ballad..not sure if I succeeded ![]() < !signature--> "The worst prison would be a closed heart". ...Pope John Paul II [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (edited 12-01-2000).] |

This is beautiful...I believe I hear the song...it comes across softly... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

A ballad? Don't know, but this is one beautifully written poem! I read this, instead of singing it, and I love music, but this one just flowed off the tongue with a soft, caressing flow. This is very, very, beautiful ![]() Enjoyed it much. With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free.. dragonpoe |

Wynter....you did very well. The recurring chorus is a prime ingredient of a good ballad. I, for example, do not write ballads. Mine are more like narratives. I just didn't want to call myself the Narrateer! ![]() |
