Paula another one love, and now you know what to expect. ![]() A Knight To Remember You all giggled at the tale of Sir Unger and Prinny True And how he and Fairy rescued her, now that I told you And the tale of the knight that did nothing at all Just rode his steed and into adventures didn't fall Sir Stich and how he married the maiden named Nine They made you laugh so I thought maybe I'd draw the line This is another tale of a knight who wasn't much good He wasn't bad he just didn't act like a true knight should Sir Aste was his name and he didn't like being a knight He found it such hard work and he wasn't awfully bright He'd only joined the knights to make his mum proud But he didn't like it and he hated the knightly crowd Every weekend the knights would gather at their lodge And always it seemed there was a fight he'd have to dodge The other knights might well be gallant during the week But at the weekend other pleasures they would all seek Sir Aste had never been keen on these manly goings on He much preferred embroidery he really wasn't that strong And this particular morning as he sat with needle in hand Listening to a record of a really wonderful brass band It was a pleasant day the sunshine was nice, not too hot He'd made some tea and it was brewing nicely in the pot When suddenly a message was delivered as he sat there Oh b*****, he said as he moved from his nice comfy chair That's great he moaned as he read the letter he'd just got That's all I need and Oh how I destest that knightly lot Apparently it was his turn to organise the Knightly Ball Which seemed quite simple but it wasn't no, not at all The budget was really lousy as the knights didn't pay much It wouldn't really pay for the venue, the food and such But Sir Aste was determined to do the best that he could He only hoped that things turned out the way they should He'd told his mum he wanted to be a wedding coordinator She'd moaned that he really should have been a daughter He loved his mum but she did say some very stupid stuff If he had been a girl he'd never had been quite dainty enough So for the next week or so Sir Aste worked himself hard He found a printer that would do the invites onto card A venue that wouldn't cost the knights too much dosh He organised the band, arranging for them to look posh The waiters and the wine were difficult to get straight And he'd had a little trouble getting them to accept flat rate But eventually the night for the Knights Ball was here Everyone congratulated Sir Aste that it wasn't too dear They insisted that he take his bow and called out cheers It was pleasant for him to be a sucess among his peers They turned on the knight who had organised it before And asked how and why did you need to spend so much more Yes said the knight tell us Sir Speed, tell us true What happened why didn't we get a good deal with you? Why was it we had to pay much more but we got far less Then the chant echoed around the hall less Sir Speed less Sir Aste, who was sorting out the pay for the ball staff And not in the hall at the time, really had to just laugh The next day he was telling of his triumph to his mother And of the laughter he'd only just managed to smother Tell me what they chanted that made it so hard not to grin Well mum it was really quite funny when I went back in I told you they chanted Sir Speed less, and Sir Aste more Well when I walked back in there they weren't anymore So my son what were they saying as you returned there They were chanting and standing up on their knightly chairs They chanted more Aste less Speed, that's such a daft joke Because I topped up the budget with my savings and now I'm broke And now they want me to organise it for them from now on So mum you now have a functions coordinator instead for a son. Circe, it did, that's good, that's what these 'little' knightly tales are for. I hope they make people laugh and giggle. Thank you love Mushy ![]() Prinny True, I know, and isn't it fun ![]() I must admit I do like these ones, and I even giggle as I type them ![]() Thank you most kindly. ![]() ![]() Startime, I'm glad you enjoy these, I truly am. And Thank you most kindly. ![]() ![]() ![]() Paula, what can I say, I have no defence, my knights are a shower, an absolute shower. But they make me giggle. And you too, I know. Thanks love, if you do the brave and true and I'll do the raving mad few. ![]() Take care Mushy ![]() Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |
